The period of stay in Russia without registration for Kazakhstani freight carriers will be increased to 180 days, the press service of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan reported. The agreement was reached at a meeting of the intergovernmental commission on cooperation between the countries.

The period of stay for foreign citizens without registration in Russia has been reduced from 180 to 90 days per year. The Russian side has expressed its willingness to facilitate a speedy resolution to the issue of restoring the previous 180-day stay for Kazakhstani drivers engaged in international transportation , the statement said .

The new regulation will take effect on January 1, 2025. The press service emphasized that it has created difficulties for Kazakhstani carriers. They are forced to travel outside of Russia more frequently, which reduces efficiency and increases costs.

Earlier, Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov expressed his readiness to expand military cooperation with Kazakhstan, emphasizing its importance for stability in Central Asia. He also noted the high level of cooperation within the CSTO, CIS, and SCO.
